5. Going Beyond Religion.

The times we live in challenge us to find out what is real.

There is so much information out there, so much 'noise', so many impressions crowding in on the senses.

There is so much competition for our 'attention' that it creates a sense of stress and hurry, confusion and  anxiety.

And yet who we really are is changeless.

It is peace itself.

And more importantly, it is always present.

Our true nature is beyond religion, in fact it is the single bridge that links all religions.  The one unifying factor which points beyond the temporary and ever changing circumstances of life, to the unchanging, ever present reality of what always is.

How can such a universal truth as this;   EVER HERE NOW,  be the province of any one religion.

Religions are the creations of human minds and as such seem always to lead to separation of one kind or another.

Truth is utterly beyond the mind. Truth unifies and includes.

In the midst of our frantically busy world, we can stop and look within.

We can do this anywhere and any time.  We need no special conditions to make it happen. Only a willingness to allow ourselves a moment of uncontrived BEING.   We are always this.
Only our recognition of it is missing.

When everything becomes just too complicated, it is  time to simplify. This is the real challenge.

The freedom inherent in knowing our true nature, beyond all earthly, religious, and human boundaries is the very essence of HAPPINESS.

'YOU ARE WHAT YOU ARE, TIMELESSLY,
BUT OF WHAT USE IS IT TO YOU UNLESS YOU KNOW IT AND ACT ON IT?
YOUR BEGGING BOWL MAY BE OF PURE GOLD,
BUT AS LONG AS YOU DO NOT KNOW IT, YOU ARE A PAUPER.

YOU MUST KNOW YOUR INNER WORTH AND TRUST IT AND EXPRESS IT
IN THE DAILY SACRIFICE OF DESIRE AND FEAR.'
Nisargadatta Maharaj.
